Our love for antiques led us to pursue the manufacturing of antique replicas. We were especially fond of brass and iron beds from the turn of the century, and collected many fine examples of designs of the period. To enable us to share the charm and beauty of our favorite treasures with more of you, we expertly crafted only our best and most appropriate designs into today’s contemporary sizes. The original of each bed in our line still stands as elegant pieces of our antique collection.

The replica beds that we produce today, are of even higher quality then their originals. We are located in Rancho Dominguez, California where all operations are under one roof. From foundry to steel and brass processing, from machining and painting to packing and shipping. This insures the total quality control that has earned us our reputation for producing the finest metal beds made in the USA.

CONSTRUCTION

Starting with the finest quality raw material available, each bed is hand crafted from beginning to end. The iron bent work involves heavy-gauge steel rods and tubes. The decorative aluminum castings are hand poured and hand finished. Each piece of decorative genuine brass is hand-polished to perfection and powder-coated with a clear environmentally friendly thermal setting enamel finish. Each component is hand-assembled and hand installed.

FINISH

The bed is completely roto-blasted (a mechanical etching and cleaning process to allow powder paints to bond onto metal) then the bed is pre-heated, electro-statically powder coated, and oven baked to ensure a long lustrous finish.

FRAME

The frame is made with oversized heavy-duty angle steel for added support and strength. The frame features recessed legs and center support for queen and king sizes. The frame requires no tools for assembly.

STYLES

Many of the styles are available in today’s king and queen sizes along with full and twin.

EXTRAS

All headboards and footboards have a crossbar, which strengthens the beds by adding support.

The frame attaches to solid flat hitch plates, not directly to the headboard and footboard. This adds stability by providing more surface area for the frame to connect to (flat-to-flat connection vs. flat to round).

The hitch plate on the footboards offset a bit, allowing room for bedspreads and comforters to be tucked down.

Our name is on every headboard and footboard we make, stamped right into the hitch plates. That way you will always know you are getting an original Elliott’s Designs bed.
